Tijana Grumić

Tijana Grumić is a Serbian playwright and dramaturge. She completed her undergraduate and master’s studies at the Department of Dramaturgy at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade. She has authored several adaptations and more than ten original plays that have been staged in theaters across Serbia, as well as in Slovenia, Georgia, Italy, and Germany. Her works have been translated into English, German, Italian, Russian, Polish, Slovenian, and Georgian, and have been published in domestic and international journals and anthologies.
In addition to writing, she actively works as a dramaturge on theater projects throughout the Balkan region. For her work, she has received numerous awards, including the Borislav Mihajlović Mihiz Award for her overall dramatic work, granted by the Serbian Reading Room in Irig, as well as a Special Sterija Award awarded to the authorial team of the performance 52 Hertz at the 58th Sterijino Pozorje. She also won the Inspirational Playwright Award for 2024 as one of three playwrights worldwide, awarded every three years by the Write Local Play Global network and the Executive Committee of the ASSITEJ international association.
She is one of the founders of the regional platform Od Malih Nog(u) / From the First Step, dedicated to the development and promotion of theater for young audiences in the Western Balkan region. She works as an assistant professor at the Department of Dramaturgy at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade and, since 2023, has also been a co-curator of the Bitef Festival. She writes for both children and adults.
